Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will release UGC NET answer key 2021 in the second week of October 2021. However, once released, all candidates who are not satisfied with the answer(s) in the key can challenge by filling an online application form present on the official website of CBSE. It may be noted that along with filling the online form candidates also have to pay a fee of Rs 1,000 per question. Regarding the same, the official website informs, “In case the challenge of any candidate regarding captured images of response sheets (OMR sheets)/ answer keys is accepted, the fee will be refunded to such candidates against the accepted challenge. In all other cases the fee once paid will not be refunded.

Candidates can pay the challenge fee in online mode via debit card/ credit card/ e-challan. Once challenges are received, CBSE looks into them to determine if any change in response is required in the challenged answer and thereafter releases final answer keys. Finally, on the basis of the final answer keys, UGC NET result is prepared for different papers and candidates are chosen for the post of Assistant Professor and/ or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). On behalf of UGC, the Central Board of Secondary Education Will hold the National Eligibility Test (NET) from 6th October 2021 to 11th October 2021 for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor Both in Indian Universities and Colleges. CBSE will conduct NET in 84 subjects at 90 selected NET Examination Cities spread across the country.

Qualifying criteria

Step I : The procedure and criteria for declaration of result for UGC-NET Answer key conducted on June 2021 comprise of the following steps: Minimum marks to be obtained in UGC-NET for considering a candidate for the award of JRF and eligibility for Assistant Professor: The candidates are required to obtain the following minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III as given below: Step II: Amongst those candidates who have cleared step-I, a merit list was prepared subject-wise and category-wise using the aggregate marks of all the three papers secured by such candidates. Step III From the merit list mentioned under step-II, The top 15% candidates (for each subject and Category-II) have been declared qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor only. By this method, if the number obtained is less than one, it is taken as at least one, i.e., a minimum of one candidate is qualified wherever a fraction less than one is obtained as per this methodology.
