The CSIR conducts the UGC-CSIR NET for other Science subjects, namely, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Earth Atmospheric Ocean & Planetary Sciences jointly with the University Grants Commission. The tests are conducted twice a year generally in June and December. For candidates who desire to pursue research, the Junior Research Fellowship is available for five years subject to the fulfilment of certain conditions. University Grants Commission has allocated several fellowships to the universities for the candidates who qualify the test for Junior Research Fellowship. The JRFs are awarded to the meritorious candidates from among the candidates qualifying for eligibility for lectureship in the National Eligibility Test. JRFs are available only to the candidates who opt for them in their application forms. On behalf of UGC, the Central Board of Secondary Education announces holding of the National Eligibility Test (NET) from 6th to 11th October 2021 for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian Universities and Colleges. CBSE will conduct NET in 84 subjects at 91 selected UGC NET Examination Cities spread across the country. The role of CBSE is only up to the conduct of the UGC NET Examination and declaration of result. The e-certificates to qualified candidates are issued by UGC- NET Bureau. So the candidates declared qualified in NET are informed to contact Head, UGC NET Bureau, University of Delhi, South Campus, Benito Juarez Marg, New Delhi, Pin Code-110021, Phone No. (011-24116316, 24115416, 24115419). The candidates who qualify for the award of Junior Research Fellowship are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or a related subject and are also eligible for Assistant Professor. The universities, institutions, IITs and other national organizations may select the JRF awardees for whole time research work by the procedure prescribed by them. The award of JRF and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both OR Eligibility for Assistant Professor only will depend on the performance of the candidate in all three papers of UGC NET. However, the candidates qualifying exclusively for Assistant Professor will not be considered for the award of JRF. All questions of Paper – I and Paper – II will be compulsory, covering the entire syllabus (including all electives, without options). Syllabi for all NET subjects can be downloaded from the UGC website www.UGC.ac.in and are also available in the libraries of all Indian Universities. CBSE will not send the syllabus to individual candidates It is notified that CBSE will conduct the next UGC-NET for Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor from 6th to 11th October 2021. The candidates are required to apply online from 10th August 2021. The last date for applying online is 5th September 2021 and the fee can be paid up to 6th September 2021.  The CBSE has decided to use Aadhaar authentication for the applicants at the time of submission of the application form for UGC NET (June) 2021.

Instructions for Use of Test Booklet and Answer Sheet

The candidates will find the Answer Sheet placed inside the sealed Test Booklet. The seal will be broken/ opened by the candidates on the announcement by the invigilator and the Answer Sheet shall be taken out. Do not open/break the seal before the announcement. The candidates should verify the serial number and series of the Test Booklet with the serial number and series of OMR sheets. In case of any variation, the Test Booklet and OMR sheet should be immediately returned to the invigilator for replacement with another set of the same series available in the examination hall/centre. Important Instruction

On behalf of UGC, the Central Board of Secondary Education announces holding of the National Eligibility Test on 6th to 11th October 2021 for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian universities and colleges. CBSE will conduct UGC NET in 84 subjects (listed under item no.14 on pages 12-14) at 91 selected Cities of Examination (listed under item no.15 on pages 14-16) spread across the country.

Qualifying Criteria and Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. are eligible for this Test. The Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to non-creamy layer/Scheduled Caste(SC)/Scheduled Tribe(ST)/ persons with disability (PwD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test. Age Limit and Relaxation

Junior Research Fellowship – Not more than 30 years as of 01.07.2021. A relaxation of up to 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST/PwD/Transgender categories and women applicants. Relaxation will also be provided to the candidates having research experience, limited to the period spent on research in the relevant/related subject of post-graduation degree, subject to a maximum of 5 years, on the production of a certificate from appropriate authority. Three years relaxation in age will be permissible to the candidates February 23, 2021, 6 possessing L.L.M. Degree.

Exemption (Eligibility for Assistant Professor)

NET/SET/SLET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities/Colleges/ Institutions. In this regard, exemption from NET/SET/SLET will be governed by UGC regulations and amendments notified in the Gazette of India from time to time.

Provisions for Persons with Disability UGC NET June 2021

Twenty minutes of compensatory time shall be provided for Paper I and forty minutes for Paper II separately. The persons with a minimum of 40% Disability (Physically Challenged) candidates who are not in a position to write in their handwriting can also avail these services of scribe by making prior requests (at least one week before the date of UGC-NET) in writing to the concerned Centre Superintendent. Compensatory time and facility of scribe would not be provided to other Persons with Disability (Physically Challenged) candidates.

Admit Card of UGC NET June 2021

It may be noted that the admission card will be uploaded on the website cbsenet. nic.in September 2021. No admission cards will be sent to the candidates by post. How to Apply UGC NET June 2021

i) Candidates seeking admission to the Test (UGC-NET, June 2021) must apply online only on the CBSE website: cbsenet. nic. in ii) Before applying Online, the candidates must possess the scanned images as below:-

Passport size photograph in JPG format of minimum 4kb to 40 kb. The dimension of the photograph should be 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height).Signature in JPG format of minimum 4kb to 30 kb. The dimension of the signature should be 3.5 cm (width) x 1.5 cm (height).

General Instructions for Application Form UGC NET June 2021

i) The candidates must read the conditions of eligibility as given in item no. 3 carefully and must satisfy themselves regarding their eligibility for the Test before filling the online application form. ii) Submission of Online Applications is mandatory.
